The Viera Stewardship District, as with other special Districts throughout the State of Florida, is governed by a five-member Board of Supervisors. These individuals act in much the same way as a City or County Commissioner, in that they are public servants for the citizens in the community they serve. Supervisors for the Viera Stewardship District are governed by the same laws as other governmental officials, including the Sunshine Law and Public Records Law.

The Board of Supervisors for the District consist of five members all serving four-year terms. Three members are elected in landowner elections, and two are elected in the Brevard County general elections, all as outlined in Chapter 2006-360, Laws of Florida. For 2020, Seats 2 and 4 will be elected through the General Election process, conducted by the Brevard County Supervisor of Elections, where interested candidates must qualify to run for a seat on the Board, much like a City Commissioner or other publicly elected official. The qualification period to be a candidate is June 8 – 12, 2020. Please contact the Brevard County Supervisor of Elections for details and further information.
